TANYA HOLLAND
Tanya Holland is an acclaimed chef known for her inventive take on modern soul food. She is the Executive Chef/Owner of Brown Sugar Kitchen, winner of multiple Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. Tanya has a diverse range of accomplishments and experiences in the culinary world. She authored cookbooks such as The Brown Sugar Kitchen Cookbook and New Soul Cooking. She competed on Bravo’s Top Chef and hosted Food Network’s Melting Pot. Tanya has also appeared on HBO Max series, Selena + Chef and hosts her own show called “Tanya’s Kitchen Table” on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
She is a member of the Board of Trustees and a contributing writer and chef at the James Beard Foundation. The City of Oakland declared a day in her honor for her significant role in establishing the city as a culinary center. Holland’s latest cookbook, California Soul, showcases her passion for soulful California cookin. Despite the closure of her restaurant due to the pandemic, she remains committed to making a positive impact in the culinary industry through her various endeavors.
